Your Saturday nights might start getting a little busier thanks to the China Grill Hilton Ft. Lauderdale launching of Sake, Maki & Roll Sushi School.
Beginning Saturday, August 13, you are invited to a tasting and teaching program that includes sake sampling, instructions on the art of sushi making and a delicious meal of maki, sushi, and tempura made by you and the rest of the class.
The class will begin with a crash course on all things sake, including how it’s made and the history of the Japanese libation. The history lesson will be followed by a tasting of five, yes five, Ty-Ku Sakes and Liqueurs paired with signature selections from the restaurant, including, Tuna Tartare on Wonton Crisps, Salmon Crudo and Dancing Unagi. Just make sure to take it easy on the sake because you still have the sushi rolling part of the class to look forward to.
While enjoying your pairings, you will learn the basics for at-home sushi preparations-from the tools and traditions to the different types of sushi, and of course a lesson in the most important components of sushi…the rice. Executive Sushi Chef, Songphon Rawangphan, will then join the class to instruct you on the proper sushi rolling technique.
The class will end with a demo of Ty-Ku sake fusion cocktails that are all under 100 calories each and a bite of dessert. You will also leave with a take home gift for all your hard work.
If you’re busy August 13, don’t fret–the class will be offered the second Saturday of every month. Space is extremely limited, so make sure to make your reservation in advance by calling 954.759.9950.
